The Creative Power of Positive Thinking

The Creative Power of Positive Thinking

Philippians 4:8 Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].

This is a profound scripture. This is the very heart of God for us as His people. To focus on what He has set before us and not to allow the distractions to get us off track from what is good and pure. The Mind is where everything begins whether good or bad. Thoughts come prior to execution of a plan. Don't take my word for it. Let's take a deeper look at what the Word of God says on this matter.

  1. Faith and Belief: The Bible teaches us that faith has the power to move mountains according to Matthew 17:20. As believers we are encouraged to have faith and believe in the promises of God and the desires He has given us, trusting that He is more than able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. Ephesians 3:20. Positive thinking rooted in faith and belief can influence outcomes and bring about positive change and transformation.

  2. Speak Life: Proverbs 18:21 says Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits. It's highly important that the words we speak have a positive impact on our lives. Positive affirmations and declarations can shape our thoughts, emotions, and actions, leading to positive outcomes.

  3. Renewing the Mind: Romans 12:2 instructs us as believers not to conform to the pattern of this world but to be transformed by the renewing of their minds. By focusing on positive thoughts and perspectives. We must align our minds with God's truth and experience transformation in their lives.

  4. Hope and Expectation: Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not yet seen. Maintaining a positive outlook rooted in hope and expectation can lead to greater confidence and resilience in the face of challenges.

  5. Gratitude and Contentment: Philippians 4:6-7 encourages believers to be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, to let their requests be made known to God. Practicing gratitude and contentment fosters a positive mindset and helps us focus on the blessings and abundance in their lives currently and the blessings to come.
