Do you know what your value is? There are many lessons we can learn from the Proverbs 31 woman. The most important one I've learned from her is value. When you know your value and your worth you learn to set your standards high and keep them there. It took me a long time to learn this principle and know exactly how valuable I am, especially in business and family life. God values us because we are made in His image and likeness. Genesis 1:26. You are valuable because of what you cost. God loves you so much that He sent His son Jesus to die just so that we can be saved from destruction. John 3:16. You are valuable because of who you can become. Gods desire for us is to live a meaningful life, being the best and highest version of yourself. When you are the best version of yourself that radiates outward and flows unto those of your household and those around you.
With that being said, let's look back on the Proverbs 31 woman in regards to her character. She was highly respected and honored as a wife, a mother, and a businesswoman. Her values and virtues brought great honor even to her husband among the elders of the community. Proverbs 31:23. As a mother her children loved and respected her, Proverbs 31:28. As a businesswoman she worked hard and diligent to ensure her family was well secured. This proves her dedication to her home and how much she valued them. Proverbs 31:13-19, 21-24. She even had a heart for the less fortunate in her community. Proverbs 31:20. She even shared with her female servants. Proverbs 31:15.
This woman was never shown as selfish or arrogant, but instead she was very caring, loving, supportive, responsible, and full of wisdom. I'm sure this woman was far from perfect, but from what we can see she was a woman of God and full of godly character.
